Company history
The first Orlandi factory was founded in Gallarate, Italy, in 1933. It specialised in the production of yarns for knitwear. In 1960 Orlandi began to produce wadding, which revolutionised the way in which padded furniture was made.
In 1986 Orlandi became a multi-sectoral group and expanded its production to include textile machinery and heat technology. In 1991 Orlandi began using its spunlace technology to produce hydroentangled nonwoven fabrics. The wipes division was set up in 1999 to target the large-scale retail industry, which has since become a pivotal part of the company’s manufacturing activities. The Orlandi Personal Care division was established in 2007.
